The replacement building in the central zone of Unterengstringen fits into the spatial and temporal continuity of the center by incorporating design elements of its predecessor, which was developed in close cooperation with the municipality.

The simple building with a gable roof is kept in the original pale green color and has a light, vertical grooved plaster. The white surrounds of the windows step discreetly out of the facade surface and thus emphasize the punctual placement of the same, while the filigree, horizontal storey cornices lend a subtly ennobling edging to the overall appearance of the structure. The gable end is terminated at the top with a historic reference by a round window, which provides a restrained design accent while granting the interior a unique play of light over the course of the day.

The one-story apartments are designed to face three winds, each with balconies or terraces on two sides. The design emphasizes incorporating a spacious living area with an open kitchen and direct outdoor access into the apartments, while the bedrooms are accessed through a corridor set back. The first floor attic is divided between a 2½-room apartment and an open maisonette with a private retreat on the top floor, which gives the project an interesting range of housing types.
