The building is positioned with an urban self-confidence on Frohalpstrasse, where the stoic, horizontally structured structure carefully emphasizes the symmetrical disposition of the building via the central axis of the house entrance. This takes the sideways garage entrance – which is extensively landscaped – out of the limelight and merges it with the landscaping. Towards the garden side, the corners of the volume are stepped in order to create a surrounding green space that can interlock with the living spaces and culminate in a spatial sequence of loggia, winter garden and balcony. On this side, the facade opens with floor-to-ceiling windows that are tied together by a rough, vertical, slightly protruding plaster strip. The bands extend towards the street side in order to integrate the more private parapet windows into the overall composition, which thrives on a calm horizontality.
The metalwork of the building is tonally the same and culminates in the vertically structured metal sheet roof. At the bottom, the building is finished off by a light-colored strip of plaster, which seems to lift the volume out of the terrain with a touch of lightness. As can be seen from the facade, the floor plans are symmetrical, with two units per residential floor. The plans impress with their clear organization and harmonious balance between spacious living spaces facing the garden and more private and quiet room functions facing away from it. The attic apartments each have a roof terrace as a secluded oasis at height. On the roof above there is a shared terrace and the in-house photovoltaic system, which is arranged on its own green space to articulate quiet spaces between the communal roof terrace and the more private living spaces below.
